Hi my name is Anke Briffaerts and I’m the new volunteer at Casal de Joves. I come from Belgium and I will be here for 11 months.

Jumping in to a world you’re not ready for (college) was not the full reason for me to start this journey. Being in another country for a whole year where everything is unknown. The language, the people, the environment, the habits. It can be subscribed as something scary but I subtribe it as an adventure you take to develop yourself more, to learn a lot and to contribute something to others. Next year when I’ll start the college, I will be more world-wise and have more knowledge about things that are important to get my brain to work on that part of my life. I have been here for a month now and it’s been already amazing. I arrived in open arms, surrounded by people with warm hearts. Casal de Joves is really a family place where everyone helped me to fit in. The work that I do is great and I can meet a lot of amazing youngsters. I’m sure this is going to be and amazing year.
